Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)

STCs are rebates available in Australia that can offset the initial cost of your solar hot water system. An STC is a measure of renewable energy which can be traded for cash or a discount on the purchase price of a hot water system. Each STC represents a megawatt hour (MWh) per year of electricity displaced by an eligible system. For more information on STCs click here.

Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs)

In Victoria, set by the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme, VEECs are available as rebates, where each VEEC represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent abated by the eligible system carrying out a specified energy saving activity. If you are replacing a gas system with an electric system, no VEECs are available. For more information on VEECs click here.
